Studio 150 Bethlehemkerk Livestream Concerts presents:

Tutu Puoane is one of the evocative voices of the international jazz and contemporary music scene. Born in Pretoria, South Africa, she moved to the Netherlands in 2002 to study and ended up settling in Belgium shortly after. Through noted collaborations with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Bert Joris and the Flemish Philharmonic, Wim Vandekeybus, Jasper van 't Hof and Tineke Postma, she stole the hearts of many.
During the successful tour with her Joni Mitchell Project (between 2015 and 2017), in which she interpreted Mitchell’s unique songs and lyrics in a personal way, she rediscovered her love for poetry, and the idea of making music to some of her favorite poems grew. Together with pianist Ewout Pierreux, she wrote a repertoire to a selection of the powerful words of her fellow South African, Lebogang Mashile.
