‘O Choro Clube Do Rio Amstel’
(Portuguese for “The Choro Club of The Amstel River”)

A unique ensemble of seasoned musicians from across the globe, each bringing their own flavor to the mix.
Picture this:
Composer Lonny (Lionel) Ziblat from Argentina, with his roots in rock and classical music, now weaving symphonies and film scores, originally a guitarist, now mastering the mandolin.
Maripepa Contreras, our Andalusian star, outgrew the classical oboe scene and Jazzed things up by specializing in Bebop and other styles. You can now catch her grooving with the Marmoucha orchestra.
Then there's Marijn van der Linden, the Dutch maestro who swapped his guitar for the cavaquinho, leading the charge in spreading Choro's joy in the Netherlands by managing the only Choro music school in the country.

Brazilian maestro Daniel Montes, a founding member of the legendary Samba group Casuarina, brings his 7-string guitar magic to stages worldwide, including prestigious venues like the Lincoln Center.
And finally, Udo de Mandt from Germany, a drummer-turned-percussionist who specialized in different world music styles, and who's mastered the Pandeiro in Brazil, now playing with different fine ensembles and the Metropole Orchestra.
These artists didn't just choose Choro; it's like Choro chose them. They're all in for one reason – to share the infectious spirit of this 19th century tradition with you. It's more than music; it's an experience, a movement, a way of life, and they're on a mission: To make you fall in love with Choro.
But be warned: once you're in, there's no turning back. It's the kind of addiction you'll be thankful for!
