The Dam Jawn (live in Studio 150)

December, 18th 2025
Show time: 20.00u

The Dam Jawn is an international band at the forefront of the European jazz scene. Formed in Philadelphia, the band is now based in Amsterdam, blending the sounds of both cities in their music. This fusion is evident in their 2023 debut album, Master Street, which features saxophone legend Dick Oatts, who also joined them on their album release tour. The album earned them a nomination at the Edison Jazz Awards.
Drawing inspiration from both past and present, the quintet refuses to be confined to a single style or genre, continuing to expand their horizons with a growing repertoire of compositions and a willingness to explore new sounds.
Following a successful tour in India, where they performed in major cities like Mumbai, Goa, and Bangalore, the band collaborated with renowned trumpeter Jeremy Pelt at the 2024 North Sea Jazz Festival. For this occasion, they presented a new set of pieces, specially composed to surprise and captivate listeners.

The Dam Jawn released their second studio album, Forward! in September 2024 with the prestigious New York-based label Cellar Live!, once again featuring Dick Oatts.
Now, they are preparing for upcoming tours with a focus on countries such as China and Japan, aiming to expand their music's reach and inspire a global audience.
