A bit about the program:
Daniel Rowland, Dana Zemtsov, Maja Bogdanovic and Anna Fedorova join forces with a number of young talents to present a tribute concert to the late Vladimir Mendelssohn, a close friend and wonderful musician who left us all too soon. Vlady, as he was called by friends, was also a composer and arranger who left us with both a broad repertoire of symphonic works reimagined for chamber ensembles and his own compositions.

"Vlady was an artist of the highest caliber, a teacher who attracted students worldwide, an inspired composer and one of the warmest people one could come across. He inspired students and colleagues all over the world." Sven Arne Tepl

Vladi was a dear friend from whom everyone could learn an awful lot about the meaning of being human and empathizing with each other. He was the glue of many friendships, including Daniel Rowland and Maja Bogdanovic, who are now married with two children!

Vlady was principal violist of the Residency Orchestra for many years and the artistic director of international chamber music festivals including Kumho, in Finland. Originally from Romania, Vlady would have turned 75 this November.
