Buisonic

The new impro guitar band of trombonist Joost Buis, with guitarists Paul Pallesen (Bite the Gnatze, Astronotes) and Jeroen Kimman (Orquestra del Tiempo Perdido, Sleep Gunner), double bass player Dion Nijland (DEON, Het Orgel Trio, VanBinsbergen PlayStation) and drummer Gerri Jäger (Solo-concerts, Knalpot, Naked Wolf).

Trombonist Joost Buis (Duo Baars/Buis, Full Sun, PolyBand, Astronotes, North Sea Composition Award 2006) is inspired by both his favourite trombone players (a.o. Tricky Sam Nanton, Lawrence Brown, Jimmy Knepper, Roswell Rudd, George Lewis) and his favourite vocalists (a.o. Howlin Wolf, Ella Fitzgerald, Alison Krauss, Marvin Gaye, Captain Beefheart).
His original compositions are sultrey, euphonic but also scratchy and edgy, with a lot of space for improvisations.
